The Runnells City Council approved multiple motions and resolutions at its March 10 meeting, including a rent increase, a lease for Little League and directives on camera activation, while narrowly approving audio equipment and removing one contested invoice from the claims list.
Councilmember Bohn moved to increase monthly rental to $600 and require a corrected inventory list; the minutes record the item being sent back to Polk County with changes. The minutes do not include the full text of the resolution. Resolution 2026-16 was adopted on a 4-0-1 vote with Councilmember Henry recorded as abstaining.
On equipment, the council first removed an invoice for a microphone and speaker system from the February claims list at Hawkins's motion. The council later approved the microphone and speaker purchase on item 7c after a separate motion by Bohn, seconded by Henry; the vote passed 3-2.
The council approved payment for completed camera installation work by a 3-2 vote on Resolution 2026-19 but explicitly directed that the cameras not be plugged in until a formal policy is in place. The motion was moved by Bohn and seconded by Henry. The minutes direct Facilities or staff to draft a camera activation policy prior to activation.
The council also approved a Little League lease on a unanimous vote and set a public hearing on a budget amendment to be scheduled for a future meeting. Financial totals recorded in the minutes include an accounts payable total of $24,411.83, payroll totaling $5,196.87 and a reported fund total of $29,608.70.
The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.; the minutes note an ICAP invoice will be brought back for approval at the March 24 meeting and that Councilmember LaBelle will revise an item for the April 14 meeting.
