Administration said the PI fund typically brings in roughly $600,000 a year and that capital‑improvement projections and bond payments were factored into a multi‑year capital plan being presented to the board.
Board members discussed safety and liability concerns related to aging turf seams and whether competition or participation could be limited if surfaces become unsafe. Administration said warranties and lifecycle maintenance are considerations and that some repair work (re‑seaming) is an interim option but full replacement will be required eventually.
Discussion also covered procurement and contracting approaches, including exploring local long‑term partnerships for turf replacement and considering staged projects to match available funding. No final payment decisions were made at the meeting; administration asked the board to consider timing in light of the August forecast and possible community levy conversations.
