Following a public hearing with no public comment, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2026-05 on Jan. 14 to set official county office hours at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The resolution cites MCA 7-4-102 and MCA 7-4-2211 as authority for the board to set office hours. It allows offices with sufficient staffing to remain open during a noon–1 p.m. lunch period through rotating coverage; offices with limited staffing may close for lunch with posted signage indicating reopening times. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was expressly exempted and will continue to operate 24 hours a day.
The board opened a public hearing and took no public comments. Commissioners then voted to adopt the resolution; a dissent was recorded during the voice vote.
