Lincoln County commissioners approve multiple board reappointments, grant support letters and routine contract renewals

Lincoln County commissioners met Dec. 17 and approved a slate of administrative items, including multiple board reappointments, letters of support for port authority grant applications, and routine contract renewals.
The meeting opened at 10:00 a.m. with the pledge of allegiance. Commissioners first approved minutes from Dec. 9, Dec. 10 and an emergency session on Dec. 11 (the latter tied to Resolution 2025-35). The board then moved through board appointments and reappointments. Patty Kinslow was reappointed to the Board of Health after being the sole applicant. Commissioners reappointed five applicants to the fair board, leaving one vacancy. For the planning board, commissioners amended a nomination and approved appointments of John Damon, Paul Johnson, Doug Frier and John Boyy, replacing Ernie Anderson in that slot after discussion about geographic representation and board experience.
The board also reappointed Kevin Pek to a Lincoln County Port Authority seat (one vacancy remains), reappointed John BB to the weed board, and approved reappointments of Teresa Torres and Janice Newman to the Eureka Cemetery board. For the Troy Rural Fire District, commissioners appointed Crystal Denton following a board recommendation.
Commissioners agreed to provide letters of support for three separate grant applications submitted by the Lincoln County Port Authority, including a private-land wildfire mitigation project and an urban/community forest program. The board voted to support all three requests.
On contracts, commissioners approved the annual renewal of the county's contract with Outlaw GIS, noting no change in hourly rates and confirming legal review had been completed. A postponed bid selection for the Yak community hall restoration was acknowledged and will be taken up later.
The meeting recessed for a brief public-comment period with no in-room commenters; a scheduled Park Board special levy ballot approval was postponed. The meeting adjourned shortly after 10:45 a.m.
Next steps: staff will obtain signed letters of support and final contract documents for county records. The postponed park-levy ballot approval will be rescheduled and placed on a future agenda.
