Salem Township supervisors approve grant application for Seanor Park equipment

The Salem Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Resolution 26-2024 during a special meeting on Sept. 24, authorizing a grant application to the Commonwealth Funding Agency to fund the Seanor Park maintenance equipment project.
Supervisor Kenneth Trumbetta moved to approve the resolution, which designates an agent to act on behalf of the township and authorizes submission of pro forma grant documents; Supervisor Kerry Jobe seconded the motion. The board discussed vendor quotes for a 24x28 shed and a 40x40 shed and for two mower options. The larger shed was quoted at $64,780. After weighing costs and park needs, the board decided to pursue the larger 40x40 building and the larger mower, setting the total grant request at $78,690.28.
Under the plan discussed at the meeting, if the grant award is for a lesser amount than requested, Salem Township would commit the remaining balance from Act 13 funds or other township sources. The motion passed with Supervisors Bob Zundel, Ken Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe voting in favor; the vote was unanimous.
Secretary Otto was present for the meeting. The board adjourned at 11:17 a.m.; the next regular supervisors meeting is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Salem Township Municipal Building.
