Planning commission to hold special meeting on SALDO amendments in early October

At the Sept. 4 meeting the Salem Township Planning Commission voted to advertise a special meeting during the first two weeks of October to discuss proposed amendments to the township’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO).
The motion, made by Paul Holleran and seconded by Connie Mattei, passed unanimously among members recorded as present. Resident John Write asked whether revised SALDO materials would be distributed to the public before the meeting; commissioners said the advertisement would be placed 7–10 days before the special meeting and that the revised SALDO would be available at that time.
The motion authorizes advertisement of the special meeting; it does not itself adopt any ordinance changes. Any draft amendments will be subject to whatever additional public‑notice or hearing requirements the township ordinance and state law require before adoption.
