Operations Director Doug Hembry told the Milo City Council on Dec. 2 that the wastewater project’s aeration system is running and the moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) is in operation, but the UV disinfection component will not be active until March 2025.
Council members noted TriplePoint has not yet provided insulated covers for the equipment; Hembry said heaters may be needed in the interim. Nancy Buss is contacting TriplePoint to resolve the missing covers. No formal remediation plan or cost estimate was adopted during the meeting; council directed staff to follow up with the vendor and report back.
The council recorded that certain equipment functions are delayed until weather and vendor-supplied parts allow full activation of the UV system.
