Milo council approves temporary alcohol permit amendment for Houston’s on Main for RAGBRAI beer garden

Mayor Hall called the Milo City Council special meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and the council quickly moved through a short agenda before adjourning at 5:32 p.m.
The council unanimously approved a motion to amend a temporary premise alcohol permit for Houston’s on Main to allow use of 2nd Street between Main Street and the alley south of Main Street for a beer garden during RAGBRAI 2024. The Clerk told the council the previously approved permit had been denied by ABD because the dram insurance did not list the correct use date and that the current submission replaces the prior approval. Councilmember Kinser moved the permit amendment; Councilmember Wadle seconded. Kinser, Wadle, Griggs and Mason voted aye; Rasmussen was absent. The motion passed.
Earlier in the meeting, Councilmember Kinser moved and Councilmember Wadle seconded approval of the special meeting agenda; that motion also carried with the same recorded ayes and absence. The meeting concluded after a motion by Councilmember Griggs, seconded by Councilmember Wadle, to adjourn at 5:32 p.m.
No members of the public were present at the meeting, and the council did not take additional public comment or set further follow-up actions on the record at this session.
