City Clerk Lynn Parker told the Sabula City Council on Dec. 17 that the city will transition its GWorks financial software to a cloud-based upgrade, with a tentative transition date in May 2025 and a new annual license and support cost of $8,000.
Parker said the change reflects costs imposed by GWorks for the upgrade and that the city currently pays $2,541 per year for the license and support agreement. She said the vendor expects the new system to "simplify our financial processes, eliminate manual work & save time." The statement was presented as information; the council did not take a formal vote on the upgrade during the meeting.
The clerk offered the timeline and the cost figures to the mayor and council for planning purposes. No additional budgetary detail or funding source was provided at the meeting.
