Sac City Council clears consent agenda, accepts arts council resignation and approves 'Friends of the Arts Council' resolution

The Sac City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda at the Feb. 24 meeting, voting to accept the agenda, the Feb. 10 minutes, the renewal of Mar Ro, Ltd dba Sac Liquor Store’s Class E retail alcohol license, and a list of vendor claims totaling $43,874.96. Councilmember Teresa Bruening made the motion to adopt the consent agenda, seconded by Councilmember Larry Mahler; roll call votes were recorded in the minutes.
The clerk presented the vendor and claims list, which identified payments to multiple vendors including Dorsey & Whitney ($13,013.00) and Koons Gas Measurement ($15,048.15). The minutes include a fund breakdown for the claims: General $14,297.41; Fire Department $94.45; Water $2,613.86; Sewer $4,765.83; Gas $15,780.31; and Garbage $6,323.10.
Council then approved the resignation of Kayln Gangelhoff from the Sac City Arts Council on a motion by Tom Lownik and seconded by Teresa Bruening. Following that, the council approved Resolution No. 2026-15, 'A Resolution Authorizing and Supporting the Formation of Friends of the Arts Council to Provide Flexibility in the Use of Privately Donated Funds,' with a motion by Teresa Bruening and second by Kayla Shull; the vote was unanimous.
Committee and department heads delivered brief reports and the council held a forum. The meeting concluded with a motion by Bob Murley, seconded by Teresa Bruening, to adjourn at 5:09 p.m.
