A council member said the van-accessible spot allows side-unloading without using another parking space and recommended ensuring at least one van-accessible stall is available per applicable federal guidance. The council voted to approve the first reading and directed staff to inspect curb heights and confirm ADA access before the second reading.
The motion passed on first reading with a direction to return options and measurements; final designation of the spaces and formal ordinance adoption will occur after the ADA compliance review and at second reading.
