Council approves TK Concrete pay estimate, vehicle purchase and other payouts; reviews road and campground needs

Police vehicle and other payments
Council approved purchasing a replacement police vehicle from Styer not to exceed $50,000. Insurance proceeds of about $28,000 toward the vehicle were noted; staff told council the remaining funds were available in the current budget. Council also approved payment to Dom Enterprise for fiscal year 2025 taxes in the amount shown on the agenda packet.
Roads, East Street and campground
During public comments and staff updates, the council discussed East Street conditions and trade-offs between cheaper surface fixes and full reconstruction. Staff said an engineered rebuild between the bridge and highway previously estimated nearly $1 million, while a hot-mix overlay might cost about $200,000 and could be revisited for a future street project. Council members also discussed closing the campground for the season and the possibility of recruiting a volunteer park manager to reduce vandalism and maintenance costs.
