Authority approves tree removal and routine financial items; unsafe-building matter set over

At its meeting, the authority approved several new-business items: a homeowner request to remove a locust tree at 7798 Tanager Street, a refund for building permit number 2657, and a staff-recommended conditional release of a developer's performance bond for Lumen's Logistics once a maintenance bond is in place.

A homeowner (Resident) told the authority they had consulted an arborist and intended to remove the tree in the easement and replant a different species. "They're gonna take it down on their dime," the Resident said, describing the owners' willingness to pay the removal costs. Chair moved to grant the tree removal at 7798 Tanager Street at the owners' expense; the motion passed by voice vote.

Chair brought forward a motion to refund building permit 2657 (Windham Nation); the authority approved the refund by voice vote. For a development by Lumen's Logistics, staff recommended releasing the performance bond and reducing it to a maintenance bond; Chair moved to approve the release conditional on receipt of the maintenance bond, and the body approved that conditional release by voice vote.

On an unsafe-building matter at 300 West Old Bridge Road, a staff member reported that the property owner had submitted paperwork for a one-lot subdivision and planned to remove the house once planning commission approval is secured. The authority voted to set the unsafe-building item over to the April 15 meeting to allow the planning commission process to proceed. The meeting then adjourned.
