Whitney Learn‑Conjeski, reporting for the Shaw Park Project Committee, asked council to support opening discussions about the cost of a splash pad at Shaw Park and said conceptual drawings and feasibility studies will be needed to apply for grants. Learn‑Conjeski said she will act as the liaison between the committee and council and promised more information at the next work session.
Council expressed a general consensus to continue exploring the splash pad concept; no formal vote, appropriation or grant application was authorized at the meeting. The committee flagged that initial design work and grant applications will be required if the project proceeds.
