Park Street resident raises safety and trespass concerns near Beaver train station

Christian West, a Park Street resident, told Beaver Borough Council at its Feb. 24 work session that someone had entered his driveway and backyard, gone through a dumpster and that people were napping on benches by the train station and in business vestibules. He asked whether police were aware and whether patrol presence could be increased.
Borough Manager and Chief of Police Dan Madgar responded that transient traffic around the train station is common and that a facility in nearby Vanport brings people from surrounding areas. Madgar said the Vanport facility is open 24/7 but that individuals may be asked to leave, and he urged residents to call the police department’s non‑emergency number so officers can investigate specific incidents.
The exchange did not produce a formal directive to change patrol patterns or an announced new policing policy. Council members did not make a motion at the meeting to direct staff to increase patrols; the manager’s office recommended using existing reporting channels to document incidents for follow-up.
