Monticello athletics aims to go fully cashless, highlights postseason success and staffing needs

"This year, our goal is to go completely cashless," Lambert said, adding that BOUND has smoothed processes and that coaches will be required to use its messaging service to communicate with athletes and parents. He credited Athletic Boosters with important support but noted that finding concession-stand volunteers remains a challenge and encouraged parents to take shifts.
Lambert reviewed recent team accomplishments — football advanced to the playoffs, volleyball reached the regional finals for the first time, both boys and girls cross‑country teams competed at state, both basketball teams had winning seasons, the district had a state runner-up in bowling and a state wrestler, and several athletes competed at state track. He said participation in school sports is declining statewide but described local participation as "strong." Lambert also noted that compensating coaches for summer sports camps, approved last year, has helped attract coaches and expand camps, while some veteran coaches may retire within three to five years.
