At its June 23 meeting the Monticello Community School District Board approved several governance items, including 2025–26 staff handbooks and multiple policy readings.
On motions recorded in the minutes, the board approved the District Teacher Handbook, Administrative Staff Handbook, Support Staff Handbook and Panther Academy Staff Handbook. The board also approved first readings of a large batch of policies (including items in the #102, #203, #302, #303, #401, #403, #404, #405, #406, #501, #502, #504, #600, #703, #803, #804 and #1001 series) and approved second and final readings on other policies such as #503.14 (Student Use of Personal Electronic Devices) and related regulations. All motions passed with unanimous votes recorded.
The board approved the consent agenda as presented and received board member activity reports. Director John Schlarmann thanked principals for earlier reports; the board also publicly thanked Pete Temple for his reporting and service upon his retirement. The minutes do not record substantive debate or public comment on the policy changes; specific policy language and any regulatory attachments are documented as part of the official policy packet.
