Monticello board approves personnel items and multiple policy readings; cancels Sept. 10 work session

At its Aug. 13 special meeting, the Monticello Community School District Board of Education approved several formal motions, all by 4–0 roll-call votes.
A motion by Mandy Norton, seconded by Mark Rieken, approved the personnel items presented to the board. The board then voted (motion by Mark Rieken, seconded by Tony Amsler) to cancel the Sept. 10, 2025 work session because of Homecoming week.
The board approved the first reading of multiple policies, including #206.1 Open Meetings; #400.2 Recruitment of Personnel; #403.1 Abuse of Students by District Employees; #502.1 Compulsory Attendance; #503.10 Anti‑Bullying and Harassment and its complaint form; #506.3 Student Health and Immunizations; #602.1 Basic Instructional Program; #602.10 Health/Human Growth & Development Education; and #606.1 Graduation Requirements. The motion to approve the first readings was made by Mark Rieken and seconded by Tony Amsler.
The board also approved the second and final reading of policy items #804.3 Capital Assets, regulation #804.3R1 Capital Assets-Regulation, and the deletion of #804.4 Intangible Assets (motion by Mark Rieken, seconded by Mandy Norton).
All recorded votes were Ayes: Rieken, Amsler, Stadtmueller and Norton; Nay: None. The meeting was adjourned at 6:53 p.m. after a motion by Mark Rieken, seconded by Mandy Norton.
