Zeeland moves to separate plumbing and mechanical inspections contract with West Shore Inspections

On Feb. 16 the Zeeland Common Council approved a contract with West Shore Inspections, LLC to serve as the city's plumbing and mechanical inspection contractor, ending the long-standing inspection partnership with the City of Holland.
Community Development Director Tim Maday said Zeeland had partnered with Holland since 2010 and expanded the agreement in 2012 to include plumbing. As inspection demand has grown, Holland's capacity has become constrained; staff recommended transitioning to West Shore Inspections, LLC, whose inspector Robert Modreske has worked in West Michigan for decades and occasionally assisted Zeeland previously.
Maday said the proposed contract was reviewed and revised by the City Attorney and recommended approval. Council approved the contract unanimously.
