Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber agreement for Fourth of July parade security

The Enumclaw City Council unanimously approved Resolution No. 1881 at its June 22 meeting, authorizing the mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the service agreement with the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce to provide additional funding for Fourth of July parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks presented the staff report and explained how the previously authorized $15,000 would be allocated: $8,500 for parade barriers lining the route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff assigned to parade duties, and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staffing. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks told the council.
Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote. The council then moved to adjourn and concluded the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
