Pavilion reports 184 events in 2025 and seeks capital upgrades; Beck Engineering to propose storage solutions

Trisha Mandry, the pavilion representative and former mayor, presented the Crossroads Pavilion's annual operations report to the Sheldon City Council, saying the facility hosted 184 events in calendar year 2025, of which 65 were wedding-related.
Mandry said the pavilion has added a third full-time staff member as of July 1, which permitted the center to accommodate multiple last-minute bookings during peak season. "We had 184 events with 65 wedding related. We are up compared to last year," she said, summarizing the year and noting roughly 170 bookings already on the calendar for 2026 at the time of her report.
She described plans included in the pavilion's capital-improvement submission: additional storage (Beck Engineering will visit to propose options), patio upgrades, technology updates and modest site improvements intended to increase rental capacity and event flexibility. Mandry said trustees and a "Friends of the Pavilion" nonprofit are pursuing philanthropic support and that the pavilion is beginning a "Crossroads 2.0" planning effort to be more intentional about bookings and facilities.
Council members asked practical questions about revenue classification for different event types, the consulting budget for Beck Engineering (Mandry cited a one-time consulting fee of about $9,800), and whether the pavilion should consider cashless payments. Mandry said some events remain primarily cash-driven (fundraisers and bar sales), and that the center keeps only a modest on-hand cash amount.
Mandry closed by inviting residents to join the pavilion board and said staff will return with consultant findings and clarified capital requests during the upcoming budget cycle.
