The Shelby City Council approved an agreement with consultant Rick Allely for Shelby Economic Development Consulting at $2,000 per month on Feb. 17, 2026, on a month-to-month basis until a modified agreement is presented.
On motion by Council member Pat Honeywell, seconded by Council member Karen Schlueter, the council voted to authorize the contract. Council member Traci True voted no; Council members Karen Schlueter, Pat Honeywell and Jackie Hursey voted yes. Mayor Ron Kroll presided.
Rick Allely was listed among those present at the special session. The council record states the agreement will remain month-to-month until a new modified agreement is brought forward for approval.
The council did not state further terms or a contract start date in the record; the clerk’s minutes show the item passed and will return if and when a modified agreement is proposed.
