Board of Equalization to mail assessor notices after receiving property valuation protests

At 10:00 a.m. on June 24 the Dodge County Board convened as the Board of Equalization and recorded receipt of property valuation protests numbered 9 through 77 for 2026.
The board received a request from County Assessor Marshall to change parcel valuations for 2026 and passed a motion authorizing the County Clerk to mail notices to the owners of the affected parcels. The minutes record the board's unanimous receipt of the protests and the authorization to mail the assessor's notices.
Separately, the board received correspondence from the Nebraska Tax Equalization & Review Commission certifying final decisions in several appeals and referred those documents to County Attorney Hopkins for any necessary action. The board also received a Report of Damaged Real Property (Form 425) from Fountain Springs LLC for damage occurring April 17, 2025 and, following advice from County Attorney Hopkins, declined to act on the request because the filing did not meet the statutory deadline (reports for damage between Jan. 1 and July 1 of the assessment year must be filed by July 15 of that assessment year).
The Board of Equalization adjourned until July 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
