High-school HVAC project on track though select equipment delayed, contractor says

Bo Champion, site superintendent for Schneider Electric, updated the Hillsboro R3 Board on the high-school HVAC project, reporting significant installation progress and a few key equipment delays.
Champion said crews had set rooftop units and got six RTUs operational and that 74 water-source heat pumps arrived June 11 and were installed. He described three items that are delayed: two fluid coolers (needed for the water-source system) expected at the end of September, and RTU18 (a large gym unit) delayed until mid—end-September. Boiler startup was described as planned for mid-July; start-up requires completion of boiler plant piping, pumps, and gas connections before the system can be filled and heat-pump startups can proceed.
Champion told the board that normal construction delays have occurred but that weekly coordination meetings with district leaders are ongoing and that the contractor remains on track to have the building systems operational for school once delayed components arrive and are installed.
The board accepted the update; no formal action was required at the time.
