District highlights international partnerships, literacy recognition and tech upgrades

Bergin highlighted teacher Kayla Jarrin's literacy project, noting the state requested Ansonia present the program at a Performance Matters Conference and that Jarrin and a team of teachers had been invited to sit on a conference panel.
Bergin also said ACES offered the district 20 free technical‑assistance hours. Special Education Director Mrs. Savo reported a rise in Pre‑K referrals and outlined upcoming professional development for the department.
Technology Director Mr. Pastore announced a redesigned Ansonia Public Schools website and a QR code linking to the district app; he also said new UPS units were installed at the high school in September as part of the Erate project.
Superintendent DiBacco repeated congratulations on the literacy recognition, noted recent outreach at a manufacturing conference and praised the district’s partnership with the public library; he said Open House nights are upcoming.
Several administrative reports were informational; the board approved related routine transfers and asked staff to circulate an updated enrollment report the next day.
