The Ansonia Board of Education voted unanimously Sept. 18 to approve budget transfers submitted by the district’s business office.
School Business Administrator Charles Carey told the board the 2023–24 year-to-date finances are “right on budget” as staff close out last year’s accounts. He pointed to a negative line item that he said will be corrected once Excess Cost state funds are received and reviewed the status of district grants before asking the board to approve transfers that had already taken place.
The motion to approve the transfers passed on a recorded vote of 6–0–0. The public minutes list the board members who voted in favor; the minutes do not itemize each transfer in the motion text.
Carey said most remaining funds will be spent and closed out in the next couple of weeks and offered to provide additional financial detail if the board requests it.
