Lone Tree reviews FY25–26 budget, West Dougherty Drive engineering estimate and posts December claims

The Lone Tree City Council conducted a work session Jan. 6 after the regular meeting to review the proposed FY25–26 budget and related capital work estimates.
City Clerk Stephanie Dautremont reviewed the draft FY25–26 budget line by line. Council members examined engineering pricing for proposed road work on West Dougherty Drive and discussed the effects on property-tax calculations for the coming fiscal year. The meeting record shows no changes were requested to the budget after the review.
The council also published a list of claims paid in December. Notable disbursements included $259,621.31 to Boomerang Corp for wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) improvements and $65,418.50 to VEENSTRA & KIMM, INC. for WWTF engineering. Loan interest payments to the Iowa Finance Authority were recorded at $5,206.25 and $23,600.00; Johnson County Sheriff's Office received $5,971.33 for the police contract. The minutes list total receipts of $122,439.41, total disbursements of $426,246.81, and cash on hand of $2,922,662.50.
The work session adjourned at 6:42 PM; no further budget decisions or funding authorizations were recorded that evening.
