Lone Tree council approves seven-year sanitation contract, sets April 21 budget hearing

Mayor Josh Spilman called the Lone Tree City Council to order at 5:38 p.m. April 2. The council, with members Hamm, Zadow, Goedken and Gluba present and Ford absent, approved the agenda and consent agenda before taking up routine business.
The council unanimously approved Resolution 2025-C, accepting a proposal from Hogan and Hansen for annual exams for the next three years. Council member Zadow moved the resolution and Council member Goedken seconded; the vote was 4-0. The council also approved Resolution 2025-D, accepting a seven-year garbage and recycling contract with N&N Sanitation. That motion was moved by Council member Gluba and seconded by Council member Goedken and carried 4-0.
Council members set a special meeting for Monday, April 21, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall and scheduled the FY25-26 budget public hearing to begin at the start of that meeting. The council also approved a city clean-up day on May 10, 2025. Each of those motions passed 4-0.
The meeting record includes a list of March claims paid and fund summaries. Major recorded disbursements on the claims list include payments to Johnson County Refuse Inc. ($9,268.50), Alliant Energy ($8,080.11), Ion Environmental Solutions ($6,775.00), and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office for the police contract ($5,971.33). The financial summary lists total receipts of $101,684.80, disbursements of $62,575.37 and cash on hand of $2,985,333.83.
The minutes were attested by City Clerk Stephanie Dautremont and signed by Mayor Josh Spilman; the meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m. on April 2, 2025. The council is scheduled to reconvene at the April 21 special meeting to open the budget public hearing.
