Brian, who presented the item, said the county’s current dispatch consoles are about 23 years old and that adding a fifth workstation will ease training and accommodate growth. "He's got the expertise. He's helped most of our surrounding counties with similar projects," Brian said of Ritter and the contractor Barry.
Commissioner Joel said he had examined the professional services agreement and was "fine with that with the terms," but he asked to review the separate scope-of-work document before the county signs the scope. The board approved the professional services agreement and the scope of work "subject to Joel's approval of the scope of work," according to the motion recorded in the meeting.
Brian said the plan is to install the new workstation now and equip it during a full equipment refresh, which he said is several years away. He added that funds had been set aside for the work. The county’s immediate step is to finalize the scope with Ritter and obtain Joel’s confirmation before executing the documents.
