The Sharon Board of Selectmen on Jan. 13 agreed to advertise two town positions after the Board of Finance endorsed the idea: a Parks & Recreation Director and a Non-CDL Road/Facilities Maintainer.
Those preparing the director job description discussed a starting salary "commensurate with experience" and said benefits and benefit start dates would be addressed during interviews with finalists. The maintainer position’s starting hourly rate must be clarified in consultation with the union. The board decided to place a single, combined ad to save money.
Timing and posting: with anticipated retirement of Mr. Andrulis Mette on March 31, 2026, the board agreed to run the ad in the Lakeville Journal on Jan. 22 and Jan. 29, 2026, and to accept resumes and applications in the Selectmen's Office through 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2026. The ad, the town application and job descriptions will be posted on the Town Website and paper copies made available in the Selectmen’s Office.
Next steps: staff will finalize the job descriptions and post the ad as scheduled; interviews and benefit details will be determined during the hiring process.
