York School Board elects Pepper Papineau president, Brien Alley vice-president for 2025

The York Public Schools Board of Education elected Pepper Papineau as president for 2025 and Brien Alley as vice-president during its meeting on Jan. 13, 2025. Alison North moved to nominate Pepper Papineau as president and to thank outgoing president Matt Holthe for his service; Alex Hildebrand seconded the nomination. A roll-call vote was recorded and the motion carried.
The leadership reorganization continued when Pepper Papineau moved to nominate Brien Alley as vice-president for 2025; Alison North seconded and the board approved the nomination by roll call. The board also confirmed officer and committee appointments for the year, including treasurers Carol Faller and Gayla Knight and Gayla Knight as secretary.
The appointments to standing committees were adopted as presented: Building and Grounds (Alison North, Brien Alley, Pepper Papineau); Transportation (Brian Tonniges, Matt Holthe, Pepper Papineau); Public Relations/Legislation (Brian Tonniges, Alex Hildebrand, Matt Holthe); American Civics/Curriculum (Alison North, Alex Hildebrand, Brien Alley); Negotiations (Brien Alley, Matt Holthe, Pepper Papineau); Wages for Non-Teachers (Alison North, Brian Tonniges, Alex Hildebrand); and LB357 committee (Alex Hildebrand, Brian Tonniges, Brien Alley).
The reorganizational votes and appointments were procedural and approved by the board with roll-call voting. The meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
