Norfolk Board hears superintendent, principal and fire marshal reports; discusses committee changes and workshop planning

The Norfolk Board of Education received routine administrative reports at its special meeting on Sept. 3, 2024. Superintendent Mary Beth Iacobelli shared her superintendent’s report and Principal Lauren Valentino presented her school report to the board.
Fire Marshal Keith Byrne provided the board with an update on the school’s annual inspection. Committee chairs reported on Curriculum and Technology. Under unfinished business the board agreed to changes in committee and sub-committee assignments and discussed a possible board workshop on Dec. 3. The minutes note that Jonathan Costa is gathering survey data and that the survey will be closed.
These items were recorded in the minutes but did not produce separate formal actions beyond routine reporting and the agenda motions recorded elsewhere in the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
