Bunker Hill Village approves $218,391 contract for sewer cleaning and televising on Bunker Hill Road

The Bunker Hill Village City Council approved a general services contract with Ram Rod Utilities not to exceed $218,391.24 on July 24, 2024 to clean and televise sanitary and storm sewer lines under Bunker Hill Road. The turnkey proposal includes sanitary sewer cleaning and televising for $115,641.24 and storm sewer cleaning and televising for $102,750.00.
Director of Public Works Elvin Hernandez said the televising work is recommended prior to the mill-and-overlay project so engineers can verify underground conditions before construction. The City used an interlocal cooperative procurement process and staff noted past positive experience with Ram Rod Utilities on similar projects. The contract was approved on a motion by Councilmember Keith Brown, seconded by Councilmember Carl Moerer, and carried 4-0.
Work authorized by the contract will precede the planned roadway rehabilitation, and staff indicated the selection was made to meet procurement requirements and to attain best value through cooperative purchasing.
