Sue Shane of Eddington used the public-comment period to say the notice to towns for public comment on the Lack of Need Report for a proposed Eddington Elementary School closure was too short because of town office closures. Superintendent Sheila Caldwell responded that she would contact the Department of Education to request an extension of the comment period to Wednesday, May 27.
Separately, the superintendent noted that the district’s Lack of Need & Cost Analysis report for the Eddington School closure has been submitted to the Department of Education. The meeting record does not show whether the DOE granted an extension; the superintendent indicated she would make the request.
