The Douglas Library Board unanimously approved the April minutes at its May 14 meeting. Charlie Adams moved to approve the minutes and Rose Lopez seconded; the motion carried with all members present voting yes.
The board confirmed details for a plant sale scheduled for Saturday, May 17. Carol Schulz said she spoke with Rachel at Freunds about sending plants and will follow up on the pickup time. Volunteers from Beckley House will set up tables at 8:30 a.m. Laura Morales Chapel (recorded in the minutes as “Laura MC”) will pick up 30 geraniums and possibly three hanging baskets from the high school vocational agriculture program.
Director Norma DeMay also updated the board on finances: the Wellner application deadline is June 15 (it had previously been reported as May 15) and the minutes record total appeal donations of $15,761.
The board did not take further formal action on the plant sale or finances at the meeting; staff and volunteers were assigned to complete logistical steps ahead of the May 17 event.
