Trenten Chiglo submitted his resignation as Rushford Village Public Works/Maintenance Supervisor on May 28, 2025, with a final day of June 13, the council recorded June 3.
Council members discussed a written proposal from Chiglo describing terms under which he would remain in the position. Councilmember Rick Ruberg said he "cannot go along with what was proposed," and Mayor Dennis Overland said he would meet with the mayor of another entity before further action.
Mayor Overland suggested the personnel committee meet with Chiglo and the council voted to table further discussion until more information is obtained (motion by Robert Hart, second by Rick Ruberg; motion carried). The mayor called a special meeting for 7:00 p.m. on June 11, 2025 at the Rushford Village hall office to address the resignation and possible options. Clerk Mary Miner was directed to post notice at designated businesses and on the village website.
The council did not record a formal vote on hiring or replacement at the June 3 meeting; next steps were limited to the scheduled special meeting and personnel committee discussions.
