Principal Beth Johnson told the Board the elementary school needs a school credit card so staff attending conferences do not have to charge hotel, flight and registration costs to personal cards and wait for reimbursement. She said other Region schools use school cards and that she had contacted the Town Treasurer, who indicated the town card could be used and had no objection to the school keeping a card.
Board members agreed there was a need for a school credit card. Mrs. Johnson said she would consult further with the Town Treasurer, draft a policy describing use and controls, and place the proposal on the Board’s December agenda for action.
The discussion produced no formal motion or vote to acquire a card immediately; the Board’s direction was to craft a policy and return with specific recommendations later.
