Palo council approves a slate of committee appointments, reschedules February meeting

The Palo City Council on Jan. 8 approved several volunteer appointments, rescheduled the February meeting and designated a council member as the financial liaison.
Council opened at 6:00 p.m. and quickly approved the agenda on a motion by Councilmember Jen Welton, seconded by Councilmember Taylor Burgin. Mayor Busch opened public comment at 6:01 p.m.; no one spoke and the period closed at 6:02 p.m.
On a motion by Councilmember Jen Welton and a second by Councilmember Darren Stoltenberg, the council moved its regular February meeting to Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, to observe Presidents Day; the motion passed 4-0.
The council approved Resolution 010826A appointing James Seely and Jamie Prull to the Board of Adjustment (motion by Welton; second by Burgin; vote 4-0). Resolution 010826B appointed Dalton Pennington and Miles Wyatt to the Planning & Zoning Committee (vote 4-0). Resolution 010826C appointed Derek Oltmann to the Utility Committee (vote 4-0).
Resolution 010826D appointed Liz Burgin to the Parks and Recreation Committee; the motion (moved by Welton, seconded by Burgin) passed with three yeas, zero nays and Councilmember Taylor Burgin recorded as abstaining. Resolution 010826E appointed Cheryl to the Beautification Committee (moved by Welton; seconded by Burgin; vote 4-0).
Councilmember Darren Stoltenberg moved, and Councilmember Taylor Burgin seconded, to appoint Councilmember Jen Welton as the council's Financial Liaison. That motion passed with three yeas, zero nays and Welton recorded as abstaining from the vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 p.m. on a motion by Councilmember Doug Hanover seconded by Darren Stoltenberg.
