During the Jan. 14 meeting, Mayor Heather Johnson reported a truck-mudding incident at Creekside Park in which a vehicle driven by a minor left a large mess while heading toward The Depot. The meeting record notes that photographs of the damage were taken and that the sheriff was present and documented the incident.
Council members said they did not want to pursue charging the juvenile if it could be avoided. The sheriff recommended documenting the situation and the council discussed negotiating a letter of understanding that would record the minor’s agreement to repair the damage when weather allows. Council members noted that if the minor is unwilling to repair the damage after being given the opportunity, charges could be considered.
