Planning department lead Ben Verger told the board the office completed 123 building inspections and issued 39 building permits since the last meeting, including nine permits for new single‑family homes. He said the commercial permit docket remains strong and confirmed that a newly proposed cold‑site (refrigerated/frozen) warehouse received its full building permit; the applicant described the project in the packet as approximately 1.1 million square feet.
Verger also said the Plan Commission will hold a special meeting next Monday to consider a Plan Unit Development application from Bronn property group for a mixed‑use project at the northeast corner of a north‑side intersection; that PUD would move to the city council for consideration in July if the Plan Commission forwards it.
Verger noted ongoing code‑enforcement activity (83 new cases) driven by seasonal complaints about trash, debris and overgrown vegetation. He encouraged residents to contact the planning office for code enforcement concerns.
Next steps: permit review and inspections proceed; the Plan Commission special meeting will consider the PUD and, if recommended, the item will advance to council in July.
