Gas & Light reports microgrid tuning, federal/state resiliency grant and a review of the gas‑service moratorium

Lilly also reported a MassCEC and Department of Energy grant to fund resilient underground cabling at the BB substation on Nahant Street, with construction expected to begin between June and July. Separately, the utility is reviewing its existing moratorium on certain new gas hookups — the committee discussed which residential or commercial situations might be exempt and how street‑paving timing constrains when new lines can be installed.
No formal vote was taken. The Gas & Light liaison said details on timing for construction and the moratorium review will be provided as they become available.
