Counsel reiterates Corkscrew Road ownership opinion as Village study proceeds

District counsel reiterated his opinion on ownership of portions of Corkscrew Road west of U.S. 41 while Village of Estero engaged Johnson Engineering to inspect streets; PSGRC leaders said Town Hall discussions focus on the intersection at U.S. 41 and the east side of Corkscrew Road and that the study will include the west side.
District Counsel Tony Pires told the board his opinion regarding ownership of Corkscrew Road west of U.S. 41 has not changed. Chair Bob Schultz noted the Village of Estero engaged Johnson Engineering to inspect streets, walkways and intersections to identify needed repairs. PSGRC President Neil Collins said Town Hall discussions have centered on the intersection at U.S. 41 and the east side of Corkscrew Road; Mr. Wilhems confirmed the study will include the west side of Corkscrew as well.
Mr. Pires and District Engineer Charlie Krebs provided an overview of county and village positions on ownership and maintenance responsibilities based on past documents and memoranda. Mr. Pires said he will forward the contact information for Apple Signs to Mrs. Adams for follow-up.
The board recorded these updates and indicated further reporting will occur as the Johnson Engineering review and Town Hall discussions proceed.
