CDD approves $105,000 for three solar speed signs and a mobile unit

The River Ridge Community Development District voted unanimously on Nov. 19 to purchase and install three permanent 15-inch solar-powered digital speed radar signs with cameras and messaging and one mobile unit, under My AV‑Tech LLC Estimates 24150 and 24151, for a combined total of $105,000.
Operations Manager Shane Willis presented the estimates as part of a long-term traffic-calming plan. PSGRC General Manager Eric Long suggested moving an existing unit 20 to 30 yards to capture additional violations; that move would require a new pole, which Mr. Willis said he will procure from Paramount Asphalt for about $1,200. The AV‑Tech proposal also included an annual cloud device fee of $1,500 per device.
The board approved the purchase on a motion by Bob Schultz, seconded by Kurt Blumenthal. During discussion members considered installation locations, the $150,000 line item budgeted for traffic calming, PSGRC criteria for issuing warnings and fines, and a suggestion that the HOA assume ongoing cloud-device costs and offset those with covenant traffic-fine revenues.
