River Ridge approves gatehouse redesign and master signage program; Bowman to retain RG Architects

The River Ridge CDD voted Oct. 22 to move forward on two related design efforts for community gateways and monuments.
The Board approved a proposal from RG Architects, P.A. to redesign two gatehouses, with design and permitting expected to take 12–18 months. The Board discussed booking the $62,500 fee as an up-front deferred cost to be invoiced to the CDD when financing is issued. Counsel recommended and the Board approved a motion authorizing Bowman to retain RG as a subconsultant under standard Bowman terms and authorizing the Chair to execute documents after review by District Counsel and the District Manager.
Separately, the Board approved Bowman Consulting Group’s proposal for landscape architecture services under the Pelican Sound Master Signage Program to replace neighborhood monuments and signage, with neighborhood monument replacement, design, and permitting to be budgeted from Pelican Sound replacement reserves.
Board members indicated a preference to begin gatehouse and monument projects concurrently; Mr. Long will lead project communication with neighborhoods and Mr. Blumenthal will serve as the Board liaison for monthly updates. The Board approved both items unanimously.
