Pembroke advances water and sewer projects as Park is readied for spring

At the Pembroke Town Board’s Feb. 27 meeting, officials reported progress on multiple municipal infrastructure items including sewer coordination with a neighboring town, upcoming water project bidding and park preparations.
Supervisor Thomas Schneider told the board that the Town of Darien is moving forward with a project to connect to Pembroke’s sewage treatment plant. Schneider also said bonding for town water projects is being completed and that bidding should begin in April.
Kevin Reeves (town staff) said he will order field mix for Town Park so the fields can be prepared for spring sports.
Councilwoman Deborah Conti urged that comprehensive-plan work begin after a Planning Board member is hired and asked that the board coordinate with Planning Board Chairman Dave Knupfer. The minutes show interviews will be scheduled soon for Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals vacancies.
The board did not record spending approvals for these items in the Feb. 27 minutes; bonding, bidding schedules and appointment decisions are to be pursued in follow-up meetings.
