Members agreed that preliminary plant lists and per‑plant cost breakdowns would be needed to support a TDC application and that native, salt‑resilient species should be prioritized.
Board members also recommended that staff and board volunteers with gardening expertise prepare initial concept sketches and a budget to bring back at the next meeting, and that the item be placed on the Aug. 27, 2026 agenda for more detailed review. The group did not commit funding and noted grant availability would determine whether the garden could progress to construction.
