The Windsor Locks Board of Education unanimously approved a recommended list of FY26 budget reductions totaling $815,136 at a special meeting held via Zoom on July 31, 2025. Superintendent Shawn Parkhurst presented the reduction list the board said was required to meet a target set by the Board of Finance.
The board, chaired by Kylee Christianson, took up the superintendent's proposals after roll call and a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The superintendent also announced Assistant Finance Director Bjorn Burke and Windsor Locks High School Principal Jeffrey Bernabe and thanked the leadership team and board members for their work on the budget process.
After discussion, Board Member Greg Guyette moved to approve the FY26 budget as presented; Lindsay Cutler seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously in favor of the recommended reduction list. Records show board members Kylee Christianson, Alba Osorio, Greg Guyette and Lindsay Cutler voted yes; D. Gragnolati was recorded as absent.
A procedural motion to adjourn was made by Alba Osorio, seconded by Greg Guyette, and passed unanimously at 7:02 p.m. The minutes of the special meeting note the actions and state the minutes are not official until approved at a subsequent meeting.
