The Town of Pembroke Zoning Board of Appeals on April 16 approved a 20‑foot rear‑yard variance to allow an addition at 1166 Vision Parkway, finding the reduced encroachment would not adversely affect neighboring properties.
Chairman Terrance Daniel presided over the meeting as the board considered an application originally seeking a 25‑foot variance. Greg Tilley, representing Ideal Burial Vault Co., Inc., reported a new measurement showing 60 feet at the rear of the existing building, which would place the proposed addition 10 feet from the rear lot line and reduce the requested variance to 20 feet.
The board closed a public hearing left open from March 19 before taking final action. On a motion by Michael Wolf, seconded by Cherie Uebelhoer, the board approved the application. Roll call recorded Uebelhoer—Aye; Daniel—Aye; Showler—Aye; Wolf—Aye. The motion carried, four ayes to none.
The approval authorizes construction of the addition subject to any standard permits or building reviews required by the town; the minutes state the board determined the variance “wouldn’t have any adverse effect on neighboring properties.” The Zoning Enforcement Officer and town staff will proceed with any follow‑up steps required for permitting.
The board took no other action on related items at the April meeting.
