Zoning Enforcement Officer Jim Wolbert told the Town of Pembroke Zoning Board of Appeals on May 21 that developers have renewed preliminary interest in parcels north of the Thruway on the town’s west side for a grocery and other stores, and for townhouses.
Wolbert cautioned that interest is very preliminary and that the town code currently contains no specific provisions for that type of mixed commercial and townhouse development. He said the board should be aware of the potential and that no applications or formal proposals had been filed as of the meeting.
Wolbert also noted a rise in building permits for accessory structures — pole barns, garages and pools — and that interior work on the local Amazon warehouse is being wrapped up; construction of the town's new pole barn continues. The item was informational; no board action was taken.
The board adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
