The Westbrook Harbor Management Commission conducted a short meeting Jan. 27 with several routine votes and officer elections.
The commission unanimously approved minutes from Oct. 28, 2025 (motion by R. Stevenson; second by A. Calderoni). It also approved a Connecticut DEEP Coastal Permit application submitted by the Grove Beach Point Association c/o Gary Bazzano for a groin repair on Old Mail Trail; the motion to approve the CT DEEP COP application was made by R. Stevenson and seconded by A. Calderoni and passed unanimously.
In nominations, commissioners voted to elect John Rie as chair (motion by E. Cusson, seconded by R. Stevenson) and to elect Evan Cusson as vice chair (motion by T. Fahey, seconded by R. Stevenson); both motions passed unanimously. A motion to adjourn at 6:20 p.m. was made by R. Stevenson and seconded by T. Fahey and carried.
